Santa Fe JIN's Spring MATSURI falls on Saturday, March 31, 10-5, Santa Fe Community Convention Center. You can visit with William there, watch a sumi demonstration, and see new works. Enjoy Taiko drums, dances, and wonderful Japanese food.

The New Mexico Art League of Albuquerque will host a show of sumi paintings opening April 15, 1-5pm. William and Karen Fitzsimmons of Santa Fe and two other sumi painters, Susan Christie of T or C, and Ming Franz of Albuquerque are four of the exhibitors. Details will be posted soon.

William is now a full member of ICCPS,International Chinese Calligraphic Art
and Ink Painting Artist Society-
North American Branch Office, based in Tokyo. More about the group and their activities maybe be found on the Branch leader's website.

William is constantly evolving ways of integrating Oriental inkpainting and Western watercolor and is now calling his work FUSION SUMI-E!

Sumi dojos have resumed at his home/studio, by appointment. He has added basic Western watercolor technique to the list. Three hour classes are now available. Description of Sumi-e Dojo

He is now listed with Santa Fe Creative Tourism as a teacher of sumi-e dojos and can be booked by visitors to experience a one-day sumi intensive relating to the Southwest landscape.
